Many USIM postgraduate students who take obligatory courses (e.g., research methodology and data analysis) are taught at different venues to facilitate students' access to higher education and enhance quality of lifelong learning. Managing this complex teaching network has called for the adaptation of Moodle platform. This approach meets two relevant requirements, (a) to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality of teaching, (b) to reduce educational costs, which largely depend on the number of peripheral venues for teaching activities. This article analyses the functionalities of the Moodle platform and its use among USIM postgraduate students and academics. The data was collected based on content analysis via questionnaire applied to 18 USIM ODL postgraduate students and 4 lecturers. The results show that despite having great potential, Moodle is mainly used as a repository for materials. Moreover, lecturers recognize the importance of the use of other functionalities of this platform in order to promote the success of the teaching and learning process.

COVID-19 is a catastrophic global upheaval with the potential to uphold the teaching strategy to a new level. The pandemic urges educators to be more proactive in addressing students' academic and social-emotional needs for the time being to counterbalance the unpredictable combination of distance learning and blended learning through several technologies and applications (Darling-Hammond, Linda Hyler, 2020). The research objective is to assess students' capacity for using technology and application in the New Norms Era. This research uses a self-administered questionnaire (SAQ) as the questionnaire, which has been explicitly outlined to be completed by the respondent (Lavrakas, P. J. (2008). Question forms were distributed to 22 students who registered for the courses, yet only seven responds with completed answers; regardless of the number, all students involved in New Norms learning methods and completed the semester. The result shows that students manage to complete thei.

This study examined the use of WhatsApp mobile application as a tutorial platform for Arabic language lifelong learning (A3L) at the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). An exploratory research design was adopted and the purposive sampling technique was used in selecting participants for the study. Specifically, the study comprises 40 USIM A3L learners. The WhatsApp mobile application was used as a tutorial delivery tool for the learners. Two research questions were raised and analyzed qualitatively. The result of the analysis indicated that WhatsApp mobile application could be used as tutorial delivery tool for A3L following the prescribed steps and procedures. Twelve Arabic lessons were learned which include contents for learners, quizzes, feedbacks and learner supports. Based on the findings, it was recommended that researchers need to extensively respond to the growing need of a body of research in this area, especially building models and strategies that work for the use of social media for the improvement of A3L delivery. Additionally, the A3L facilitators should be equipped with the skills of using mobile technologies , particularly the social media for A3L enhancement.

The COVID-19 pandemic gives a big impact on various aspects of human life, including higher education institutions. Institut Agama Islam Negeri (State Institute for Islamic Studies) Surakarta (IAIN Surakarta) as one of the Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia has developed online learning management using Moodle platform. This study tries to measure the level of implementation of learning management in three dimensions of Moodle-based online learning; planning of learning, implementation of learning and evaluation. This study used a quantitative approach with a sample of 718 students from five faculties based on the descriptive analysis, report showed that planning of learning was in the high category with an average of 4.06 (in scale 5), the implementation of learning was in the medium category with an average of 3.35 and evaluation of learning was also in the medium category with an average of 3.14. It meant that it was necessary to optimize the implementation and evaluation of learning. While the results of CFA showed that the three manifest variables were below 0.4, namely the use of Zoom, Google Meet or others (outside Moodle) for synchronous (λ = 0.01, mean = 3.86), the use of Google Classroom, WhatsApp or others for asynchronous (λ = 0.04, mean = 4.31), and the examination in the form of assignments (λ = 0.11, mean = 3.86). So, it can be concluded that the use of e-learning based Moodle has less optimal in implementation and evaluation of learning. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of applications, supporting facilities and user capabilities.
